Anybody in the Irvine-ish area with basic financial accounting knowledge need a job? My friend's firm is hiring a new staff accountant. Not that I know any out of work accountants, but hey, doesn't hurt to put it out there.

All these problems on my mind
Make it hard for me to think
There is no way I can stop
My poor brain is gonna' pop
And I don't have a purpose
Scattered on the surface
I need to find some peace

Ahh it's only 10:30! I came into work early this morning because my momma needs her car so I have to be home by 5. As difficult as it is to get up early in the morning (I literally had an argument with myself in my head this morning... "Get the fuck up, Eugene!" "Errrahhh, one more snooze!"), leaving work with a decent amount of daylight hours left is totally worth it. It takes me twice as long to get to work if I go in early because of the ball-busting traffic, though. What the fuck, that's what I get for being an enthused employee...

This past weekend was fun-filled and gluttonous. Friday was my dear friend, Johnny's, birthday so I used that as an excuse to spend a lot of money on food and wine. I had prime rib three days in a row at two of my new favorite restaurants: The Lawry's Carvery at South Coast Plaza, and Five Crowns in Corona Del Mar. Well, they're actually both owned and operated by the same company, but the prior is a lunch bistro type place and the latter is a fancy restaurant. Anyway, both are exquisite! I might even be so bold as to say that the beef at Five Crowns even surpasses that of the House of Prime Rib, though overall the House is still tops.

Oh man, I was presented with a great offer that I had to pass up too. So for the past few months I had been hearing about Coachella - this really awesome musical festival out in the desert touting like 100 performers, including some really awesome bands like Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, Rilo Kiley, Keane, Wilco, and WEEZER - pretty much like everyday on KROQ. Well, on Friday I hung out with Joan and it turned out that her sister, who works for Interscope, had 2 extra tickets for BOTH days with a FREE hotel room (on top of the 2 that she already got for Joan), and she asked me if I wanted to go, but I refused because we had already made plans for Johnny's birthday! See what a great friend I am? God, I wanted to go soooo badly though! Shooooot...

So after a wonderful weekend of hedonism with my bros, and some hoes, I am being ambushed with things to take care of. In the next five weeks I have two quizzes, a book to read, a midterm paper, a final paper, six analysis journals, a presentation, two research assignments, a legal memorandum, another final, and a little thing called the LSAT, on top of 33 work hours per week. I also have to find a loan for school and find a place to live in Berkeley, as well as make plans to move all my shit up there, by mid-June! What a way to end my days under the sun in So. Cal. It will be really nice to be back in the Bay Area, though, and in a more stable situation. Maybe then I can find a nice, fun-loving, intelligent, non-psycho, fairly self-secure, single woman to spend my days with... hmm, perhaps I should stay away from Asian girls then.

I have some pics from the weekend to post, but I left my camera at Richard's lavish Spanish castle, and the guards will go Abu Ghraib on me if I come unescorted. I will post them soon, with pics from Ming's birthday gathering at the ever trendy Sutra Lounge tomorrow night. Birthdays, birthdays, draining my bankroll...

I will leave you with a haiku that I wrote in English class last night...

Yes, that's right. After only one pathetic week without blogging, I have risen from the cyber-dead. What can I say? The days at work were painfully slow, and without some external medium to spew my brain waste onto, I simply remained to wallow in my own lunacy. Interestingly enough, blogging also makes you smarter, evidently, and God knows I can't afford to be any dumber. Besides, ours is the internet generation, so why reject my roots, right?

Well, since this is a rebirth of sorts I thought a change of residence might be in order. Away from Xanga, where the juveniles run amok with their glittery Morning Glory(TM)-esque wallpapers and infantile forms of EnGluSH, and on to something more a little more refined. So I thought, "Who provides more reliable, efficient, and elegantly designed software/services than Google?" and found my new home here at Blogger. This transition has come with a weird intial feeling though, much like moving into a new home, but as I familiarize myself with all of these snazzy foreign features I feel more satisfied with my new dwelling. The management tools are easier to work with, yet more versatile, and the layout of the page is nice and clean. More professional looking, no? I also like my new URL, hehe. I still plan on launching my own site, but that's a ways up the road.

So ends my inaugural post. I hope I will be able to enlighten and entertain you with some thought-provoking, heart-warming, rage-inducing, tear-jerking, spine-chilling, side-splitting, pants-crapping, time-killing, rootin-tootin posts in the many days to come. Thank you, come again!
